Frequently asked questions

PhotoTagWhy can’t Find My or Find Hub connect to PhotoTag?
  1. Press the Contact/function button once. Check that the device beeps and switches images.
  2. Check your internet connection, Bluetooth, background app refresh, and the location permissions required by Find My or Find Hub. Try switching between Wi-Fi and cellular data.
  3. Update your phone system and Find My or Find Hub, then restart your phone.
  4. On iPhone, select Add Other Item / Other Supported Item rather than Add AirTag. On Android, restart the phone and clear the app cache if the pairing pop-up does not appear.
  5. If it still will not connect, remove the device from the previously linked account, then reset it: press Contact four times quickly, and hold the fifth press until you hear a tone. Pair again.
PhotoTagWhy isn’t my PhotoTag location updating promptly?

Location updates depend on nearby devices in the finding network associated with your paired phone. Sparse device coverage, metal objects, and thick obstructions can slow or prevent updates.

Low battery can reduce Bluetooth transmission frequency. Replace the CR2032 battery if it is low. Restart the phone and refresh Find My or Find Hub if the location appears stale.

PhotoTagHow is my PhotoTag location privacy protected?

Your device does not store its location history locally. Devices relaying its location remain anonymous, and location data is encrypted during the finding process. Manage access through the finding service linked to your account.

PhotoTagHow do I pair my PhotoTag with a new phone?

First remove PhotoTag from Find My or Find Hub on the previously paired phone. Then manually reset it and follow the setup instructions to pair with the new phone. Reset by pressing Contact four times quickly, then holding the fifth press until the tone sounds.

Resetting PhotoTag deletes locally stored images and business cards.

PhotoTagWhy can’t the PhotoTag app find my PhotoTag or synchronize images?
  1. Turn on Bluetooth. Press Contact once to wake the device; a notification sound confirms it is awake.
  2. Check that another nearby phone is not connected to this device in the PhotoTag app.
  3. If several devices are nearby, confirm you selected the correct one.
  4. Move away from strong electromagnetic interference and try again.

If these steps do not work, remove the device from its finding service before resetting it. Reset PhotoTag, remove the battery for 1–2 minutes, reinstall it, then reopen the PhotoTag app and reconnect.

PhotoTagWhy does my PhotoTag battery drain quickly?

Frequent Play Sound requests and image uploads consume battery power more quickly. Keep the device dry; excessive humidity can cause short circuits, rapid battery drain, or internal damage.

Use a genuine CR2032 coin cell battery.
